Partner Checklists
To help you understand how to promote Parker Dewey, what resources to use, and when, we have developed the Partner Checklists. There are two checklists that you can use:
- Getting Started: This list contains steps to complete for all new Parker Dewey partners.
- These are basic but essential steps to ensure that you have identified the correct points of contact for our partnership; reviewed the marketing materials provided to you; and sent an email to announce our partnership to employers and students.
- These steps should be completed when you first establish your partnership but may not need to be completed again unless you have a new point of contact at your institution or have not promoted Parker Dewey for a year or more.
- Annual Must-Do's: This list contains steps that should be completed on an annual basis.
- The checklist contains a variety of ideas for how you can promote Parker Dewey to students, employers, and others in your campus community.
- Each item includes easily-customizable resources for you to use so you don't have to create anything from scratch.
For basic-level partners, completing the Annual Partner Checklist is required before you can request your student engagement data each year.
Timely Content and Events
Each month, we develop resources to help partners share Parker Dewey with your employers and students. This content is sent to all partners who are subscribed to our monthly content newsletter. It is also summarized in our blog.
The timely content contains articles, newsletters, and events that can be shared with students and employers. The content changes each month so that you are promoting content that is most relevant based for that time of the year.
When relevant, Parker Dewey will also create multiple options for how you can share this content including as a flyer, social media (LinkedIn or Instagram) or on a digital monitor. As with all Parker Dewey content, partners are encouraged to customize this collateral as needed by adding your logo, changing the colors, or otherwise aligning the content to your brand so that it is as relevant as possible for your campus community.
Parker Dewey Student Ambassador
One way to help your team launch or scale your Micro-Internship inititaive at your school is to hire one of your students to serve as a Parker Dewey Student Ambassador. This can be a great opportunity for a student while minimizing the amount of work it takes for your team to launch or promote this inititaive.
Parker Dewey has created several resources about hiring a Student Ambassador including:
- A template for the project posting: Click on this link and log into a Parker Dewey employer account. This will pre-populate a customizable template for the Student Ambassador Micro-Internship posting.
- Checklist of recommended tasks: This spreadsheet includes the recommended tasks that a Parker Dewey Student Ambassador can complete as well as the resources that they need to complete each task. It can be customized as needed by your team
Parker Dewey Brand Materials
As a partner, you are encouraged to promote Parker Dewey opportunities to your students and employers in a way that makes the most sense to your campus community. Many partners will use a custom name for their whole program such as Swarthmore College's SwatWorks or the University of Delaware's BlueHensWork.
Irrespective of how you name your initiative, you are encouraged to use the phrase, "Powered by Parker Dewey" when promoting these opportunities. Additionally, you can use this resource to access Parker Dewey logos in various formats and all brand colors. If you need additional Parker Dewey branding materials, please contact Parker Dewey.
Demonstrate the Parker Dewey Platform
Partners are encouraged to create a student and employer account so that they can easily demonstrate how the platform works with anyone who is interested. You will need to use a separate email address for each account. We recommend:
-
Student Account: Use a department email address and share that user name and password with your team.
-
Education Partners: Add your school in the Education Section of your student account's profile and include a graduation date that is in the future. This will allow you to see the opportunities that may be available for current students.
- Non-Profit Partners: Add your organization in the "Affiliation" section of your student account. It does not matter what school you select, but be sure to choose a graduation date that is in the future so that you can see opportunities available for current students.
-
- Employer Account: Use your work email address to create this account. Each member of your team who works with employers can also create their own account.
