Why is Timely Communication Important?

Did you know that companies may deselect you from a Micro-Internship if you don't respond to the selection email within 24 hours? Timely communication is vital not only for making a good impression, but also for securing and retaining opportunities.

Steps to Take to Ensure Timely Communication

  1. Make sure your email address is up-to-date. You can update the email address associated with your Parker Dewey account in your profile.
  2. Check your email daily! 
  3. Respond to selection emails within 24 hours. If you've been selected for a Micro-Internship, reach out to the client as soon as possible. We even have a template so you can do so quickly and with confidence.
  4. Set expectations. If your schedule doesn't allow you to provide a thoughtful, same-day response to an employer, quickly let them know that you appreciate their email, and when you will be able to send a full response.
