Why Refer Employers to Parker Dewey
For partners, sharing Parker Dewey with your employer connections is crucial in making sure there are consistent and relevant opportunities for your students on the Parker Dewey platform.
Most people need to hear about a new concept at least 5-7 times before taking action. Introducing the Parker Dewey team to your employers allows us to help you build the necessary familiarity.
Which Employers to Refer
If one or more of the following is true for an employer you work with, introduce the employer to the Parker Dewey team.
- They hire, or want to hire, early-career talent. Interns, co-ops, or entry level full time roles are part of their plans. Even a company bringing on a few students part-time is a fit.
- They have hiring needs in the next 12 months. Open roles, anticipated growth, or a stated need to build a pipeline all count. They don't have to be hiring today.
- They have expressed interest in or have already developed a relationship with your institution. If the employer has invited your team for an employer visit, attended a career fair, tabled on campus, or asked you about how they can better recruit your talent, these are all strong indicators that Parker Dewey would be helpful.
- Their current early-career process is running into challenges. This list is not exhaustive, but contains good examples of goals Parker Dewey can help employers achieve:
- Build and maintain relationships with potential hires
- Develop a new recruiting relationship with your institution
- Enhance existing on-campus recruiting efforts
- Grow employer brand awareness with your students
- Access target demographics
- Make more informed hiring decisions that result in less turnover
- Deliver recruiting results with limited budget
- They're open to trying something new. They don't want to overhaul their whole process, but they'll test a complementary approach if it's easy to start.
How to Refer Employers
Choose from the options below. At least one is required annually for Partner Checklist completion, but multiple efforts throughout the year are encouraged:
- Promote Collaborative Conversations (recommended): Use this email template to encourage employers to schedule a meeting with members of both your team and ours. The goal is to schedule such conversations with at least three employers.
- Email employers in bulk and have Parker Dewey help with follow up. Send this templated email to your employer contact list, then share at least 10 contacts (more are recommended) with Parker Dewey. Make a copy of our employer contact spreadsheet to make sure you're sharing all the information we need to follow up.
- Invite employers to a Parker Dewey webinar. Invite your employers to our standing, open-to-all employer webinars. After sending the invitation, share the contact information for at least 10 employer contacts that you invited so we can follow up.
- Host an institution-specific Parker Dewey webinar. The Parker Dewey team will set up the 30-minute event, registration link, and promotional materials. Your team just needs to establish a date and time and share the invitation and reminder with all your employer contacts who meet the above criteria. Contact schools@parkerdewey.com to schedule.
