Career Launchers: Individuals who are seeking to complete Parker Dewey Micro-Internships. Career Launchers are typically students and recent graduates of US-based postsecondary institutions or US-based postsecondary certification programs or other training providers who work with individuals who are early in their target professional career. Career Launchers must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Project-Based: Micro-Internships are designed to be value-added projects that have a defined deliverable that the Micro-Intern is expected to complete. They are not intended to be ongoing engagements that would be completed by a part-time or full-time employee. This decision tree can help companies determine if the project they have in mind is appropriate for a Micro-Internship.
Fixed-Fee: Payment for a Micro-Internship is based on a set amount of pay, not based on completing a certain number of hours. Assuming the project is completed successfully, the Micro-Intern will receive the full amount irrespective of the number of hours of work.
Deliverable: The final work product that the Micro-Intern is expected to complete at the duration of the project.
Milestones: Components of the final deliverable (work product). Delivering these components to the project supervisor helps to indicate that the project is on-track. They also serve as a useful opportunity for a Micro-Intern and Project Supervisor to meet if expectations are not being met.
