Education and Location

If you are 18 or older, attend or graduated from a US-based institution and are authorized to work in the United States, then you will find an employer through Parker Dewey.

Enter your academic information using the dropdown. This information is critical because some companies offer opportunities only for specific schools and Parker Dewey employers hire in-person, hybrid and remote positions.

International students and alumni should see our International Compliance help desk for additional information. If you are an international student, be sure to check the box at the bottom of the screen to ensure you receive important information about international students' needs and eligibility to apply for opportunities. F-1/J1 international students should contact support@parkerdewey.com to confirm eligibility before applying to projects.

  • Upload a picture of yourself. We recommend one that looks professional and shows a little bit of your style and personality.

  • Draft a personal statement that names your experience and skills (e.g. ), your desired experience and skills and your personal and career goals

  • Choose affiliations to help you stand out to employers. Add nonprofit organizations with whom Parker Dewey has partnerships or general categories like "Student-Athlete" or "Honors Student." Hit ADD after each new affiliation and check its successful addition to your profile.

Tip for Success: Keep in mind that companies will be able to see all of this information if you choose to apply to one of their projects. Adding hobbies and other interests can be a nice way to differentiate yourself, but keep it professional!

Experience Information

  • Include experiences that may be relevant to the projects that interest you. This can help you stand out!

  • If you wish to add an additional experience, click Add Experience.  Experience will be added so that the most recent one is listed at the top of your profile.

Resume Information

  • You can only upload one resume to your Parker Dewey profile, so be sure to choose one that might appeal to the variety of projects to which you may apply. You can always upload a new resume at a later time.

  • DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION ON YOUR RESUME. If you are selected for a project, the company will receive your email address, but, for your Parker Dewey resume, do not list your email address, phone number or any other contact information.
  • Indicate your availability for other types of work. Many companies use Micro-Internships as a way to identify talent for longer-term opportunities, so let them know what you're open to.

  • If you are comfortable sharing links to a personal website, portfolio, and/or LinkedIn account, add that here. Many projects on the Parker Dewey platform involve some familiarity with social media and other web design. Having links in this section can be beneficial if you are interested in these types of opportunities, but be sure to only link accounts that are professional.

Additional Documents

  • This section can be used to showcase example of previous work that might be relevant to projects of interest. Work samples are a great way to showcase your writing skills and other relevant expertise. Career Launchers who upload samples of their work are more likely to be selected for projects.

  • Only PDF, PNG, & JPEG files can be accepted and the document size limit is 7.5MB.

To Review Micro-Internships for Which You Have Been Hired

Click on HIRED. This will include all projects that you have been selected for which have not been completed yet. When you have completed a project you can click on HIRED > I COMPLETED THE ASSIGNMENT. This will help the Parker Dewey team know that the project has been finished so that they can issue payment and solicit feedback about your performance from the project supervisor./

Click on COMPLETED. Click on DETAILS to see feedback that you may have received from the project supervisor. If you did not receive feedback, click on REQUEST FEEDBACK.

To Review Messages from Project Supervisors

Click on MESSAGES. This allows you to connect directly with the project supervisor prior to be selected. They may reach out to request additional information or to schedule an interview prior to making their decision.

Tip for Success: Project supervisors can reach out to you once you have submitted an application to their project. There is no way for applicants to reach out to companies once you have applied unless they reach out to you. In fact, companies don't want you to reach out to them. These are busy professionals with a lot to do...they'll reach out to you if they want to connect.
