Here's what happens next...

In your email, you will receive the following information:

  1. Your point of contact at the company (also referred to as your project supervisor), who you will want to reach out to ASAP to set up a kickoff meeting.
  2. The accounting paperwork you'll need to fill out so Parker Dewey can pay you when the project is completed
  3. The Parker Dewey Terms of Service you'll need to review and return to tos@parkerdewey.com before getting started.
  4. Additional next steps to take if you are an international or undocumented student.

 

Tip for Success: If you do not receive an email, you may need to unblock Parker Dewey in your email provider's settings. Follow instructions to add Parker Dewey to your email provider's safe-listing at AppleMail, Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo!Mail.

Once you have received the email you are ready to set yourself up to begin work:

  1. Whether it's finding a distraction-free work space or taking detailed notes during meetings, there are lots of little ways to help yourself.  How to set yourself up for Micro-Internship success
  2. Add to your resume your current position to be sure this position.
  3. If you alert social media to your new position, be sure to clear that publicity with your supervisor first.
  4. Set up communication and expectations with your supervisor. Whether via check-in meetings (agenda template), or email updates (template), use our professional communication tips to make sure your supervisor is kept up-to-date on your progress and any questions you may have.

Tip for Success: Don't hesitate to turn to your network for guidance if you run into hiccups with your project. Just be sure not to violate the Non-Disclosure Agreement detailed in the Parker Dewey Terms of Service.
