This policy has been developed in order to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and that contractors (e.g. students, recent grads, and other career launchers) completing Micro-Internships on the Parker Dewey platform are treated fairly.
As a result, all opportunities posted on the Parker Dewey platform must meet the following criteria:
- The Micro-Intern is paid based on completing a specific set of deliverables, not based on the number of hours worked.
- Minimum compensation per estimated hour of work must be $20.00. Projects posted at a rate below this amount must be approved by Parker Dewey.
- The project supervisor must verify that the work has been completed satisfactorily before the payment is issued.
- During the Micro-Internship, the Micro-Intern must not have any direct interaction with any vulnerable populations (e.g. minors, individuals in a healthcare setting, individuals with disabilities, etc.).
- During the Micro-Internship, the Micro-Intern must not be completing work in a potentially dangerous workplace even if training is provided. This includes directly operating or being near any potentially dangerous equipment.
- During the Micro-Internship, the Micro-Intern must not be providing direct patient care or tutoring even if they are supervised.
