View Available Micro-Internships

From your Parker Dewey Career Launcher Dashboard, click on OPPORTUNITIES. You can use several filters to find opportunities that may interest you:

  • Favorites: As you are viewing opportunities, you can select the Star icon next to "Favorite" to identify projects that interest you the most.
  • Hidden: Click on the Eye icon next to "Hide" to identify projects that do not interest you.
  • On-Site: Click "On-Site" to find projects that must be completed in-person.  If you wish to apply to any of these opportunities, be sure to check the city/state for that project to make sure you are able to work in that location for the full duration of the project.
  • Remote: Click "Remote" to find projects that can be completed remotely.
  • State: Enter a state to find projects where the project supervisor is located in your target state.
  • Search Bar: Enter search terms into the Search Bar to identify projects of interest by keyword.  This may include a company's name, project title, skills required, etc.

You can also sort the list of projects by when it was updated, created, anticipated start date and anticipated due date.  For each of these, the most project with the most recent date will appear highest on the list.

There are two categories of opportunities that Career Launchers can see:

  • Featured Projects: These opportunities are NOT open to all Parker Dewey Career Launchers. They are only available to Career Launchers at specific schools or who have specific "Affiliations" in their Parker Dewey profile.
    • These limitations are set by the company, school, or organization who is funding the project.
    • If there are no featured projects currently available for that Career Launcher's School or Affiliation(s), then the Career Launcher will not see the "Featured Projects" section under their "Opportunities" section of Parker Dewey.
  • All Open Micro-Internships: These opportunities are open to all Parker Dewey Career Launchers.  They are typically more competitive than "Featured" Micro-Internships since they are open to a wide pool of applicants.

Review Micro-Internships to Which You Have Applied

From your Parker Dewey Career Launcher Dashboard, click on APPLIED.  This will list all applications you have submitted to Parker Dewey opportunities.  There are two categories of applications:

  • Active Applications: These are projects in which you may still be under consideration by the organization.  The organization may be
    • Reaching out to applicants to gain more information about their background and/or interest in the project.  Check your email and the "Messages" section of your Parker Dewey profile and respond to any messages you receive as soon as possible.
    • Conducting interviews with applicants.  Again, this will be coordinated in the "Messages" feature in Parker Dewey, so check your email regularly.
    • Planning to hire multiple Micro-Interns. The company may have selected one or more students but may reach out to you after they have started working with these other students.  The project will appear under "Active Applications" as long as they still have Micro-Intern placements available.
  • Past Applications: These are projects in which you were not selected for the opportunity. You can view the project description and your application responses to review what you submitted.

If you no longer wish to be considered for a Micro-Internship listed under "Active Applications," you can click DETAILS > RETRACT APPLICATION.

To update your application, you must retract your application and then resubmit it.

Review Micro-Internships for Which You Have Been Hired

From your Parker Dewey Career Launcher Dashboard, click on SELECTED. This will include all projects that you have been selected for which have not been completed yet.

When you have completed a project you can click on HIRED > I COMPLETED THE ASSIGNMENT. This will help the Parker Dewey team know that you believe the project has been finished.  Parker Dewey will follow up with your project supervisor to confirm that the project has been completed satisfactorily and will issue your payment as soon as possible.

Review Micro-Internships That You Have Completed

From your Parker Dewey Career Launcher Dashboard, click on COMPLETED.

If you haven't already, click on COMPLETE SURVEY to provide feedback about your Micro-Internship.  This feedback is not shared with your project supervisor but may be shared with your school.

Click on DETAILS to see feedback that you may have received from the project supervisor.

Review Messages from Project Supervisors

From your Parker Dewey Career Launcher Dashboard, click on MESSAGES. This allows you to connect directly with the project supervisor prior to be selected. They may reach out to request additional information or to schedule an interview prior to making their decision.

As a reminder, no companies should ever request your social security number (SSN), individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN), address, or any other details necessary to pay you for your Micro-Internship.

Parker Dewey is the employer of record for all Micro-Internships, meaning your pay will be processed by Parker Dewey. If someone other than Parker Dewey asks you for these details, do not share them, and contact Parker Dewey Support immediately at support@parkerdewey.com

Tip for Success: Project supervisors can reach out to you once you have submitted an application to their project. There is no way for applicants to reach out to companies once you have applied unless they reach out to you. In fact, companies don't want you to reach out to them.   Be sure to check the email associated with your Parker Dewey account on at least a daily basis and respond to any messages that you receive as soon as possible.

Remember: These are busy professionals with a lot to do...they'll reach out to you if they want to connect.
