Completing a Micro-Internship

Written by Parker Dewey | Jul 12, 2026 11:12:36 AM

When your Micro-Intern has finished your project, complete the following steps in Parker Dewey to close out the project and ensure the Micro-Intern is paid.

In this article, you will learn:

Mark a Project as Complete

Click on your project under IN PROGRESS and then select Complete Project under the Actions dropdown menu.

If you do not complete this step, Parker Dewey will not add your Micro-Intern to the payroll for that month.  If you have multiple Micro-Interns working on the project, you should not complete this step until all Micro-Interns have completed their project.

Click here to mark one or more (but not all) Micro-Intern's project as completed.

How to Mark One or More Micro-Intern's Project as Complete

If you are working with multiple Micro-Interns, you can tell Parker Dewey that one or more Micro-Intern has completed the project.

If you have at least one Micro-Intern who has not completed the project, you should not mark the project as complete.

To complete one or more (but not all) Micro-Intern's project as completed, follow these steps:

  1. Click on your project under IN PROGRESS and then select Browse Applicants.

  2. On the next screen, select the name of the Micro-Intern who has completed your project.

  3. On the next screen, select Actions > Complete Applicant.

You will be immediately directed to the form where you can give your Micro-Intern(s) feedback.

How to Give Your Micro-Intern Feedback

Once you click Complete Project or Complete Applicant, you will be directed to the feedback form.  The form takes less than 5 minutes to complete and is very helpful to the Micro-Intern's professional development.  This information can also be shared with the Micro-Intern's school so that they can better understand their students' strengths and opportunities to improve their professional development.

The feedback form takes less than 5 minutes to complete and is pictured below.  Parker Dewey uses a scale with ratings such as "Executed like an industry veteran" and "Expect more from an intern or new hire" to help companies convey the student's overall performance compared to other current college students, recent graduates or entry-level employees.

In addition to the questions that are based on a Likert-type rating scale, there are also two open-ended questions allowing companies to share more details about their experience working with the Micro-Intern.  One of these questions is visible to the Micro-Intern and their school.  The other is only visible to Parker Dewey.

Tip for success: The more information you can provide to your Micro-Intern, the better they will be able to improve their skills and work in their next job. We recommend these helpful tips for constructive feedback (link navigates outside of the Parker Dewey site).

When you have completed the feedback form, click Submit Feedback at the bottom of the form.

Giving Feedback at a Later Time

If you do not wish to give feedback immediately after closing the project, you can click on the "X" in the feedback form.  Until you complete the feedback form for all Micro-Interns who completed your project, your project will be listed under the Awaiting Approval section of your dashboard.

On the next screen, you will see the details about your project.  Under the "Awaiting Feedback" section, select Give Feedback.

On the next screen, select the check box next to the name of each Micro-Intern to whom you wish to give feedback.  If you worked with multiple Micro-Interns and wish to give the same feedback to all of the Micro-Interns who worked on that project, you can use the box to the left of the Name column to select all of the Micro-Interns that you worked with.

When you have selected the Micro-Interns to whom you wish to give feedback, select the Give Feedback to Selected button.

The feedback form will appear, and you can complete the form giving feedback to all of the Micro-Interns you selected.  When you have completed the form, select Submit Feedback at the bottom of the form.
